| Since I believe the work I do is closely connected to who I am, I will tell about what I do while I tell you a bit about myself... | |
| My name is Klaas Kloppenburg and I was born april 7th, 1961. During highschool I started taking singing lessons with Titia Dijkstra in Middelburg. After that, while living in Amsterdam, I was trained as a singer from 1983 till 1990 by Djoke Winkler Prins. I started my music therapy education in 1985 at the "Jelburg", on of the four Professional educations for the Creative Arts Therapies in the Netherlands, currently a faculty of the Hogeschool van Utrecht. From 1989 I worked for 14 years as a music therapist with psychiatric patients in short term care and long-term day-care. |

In 1995 I started a private practice (studio
"Spelenderwijs") which later became "Cearcall"
for Music Therapy, Improvisational Training, Voice
Expression , Singing
and guidance in "Making Your Own Song". I have much experience
in the making of songs. We use the possibilities of working with
computer
and MIDI (musical instrument digital interface) to make arrangements. The studio also offers the possibility of recording music. |
| I give Workshops and occasionally lectures at educations for Occupational Therapy, Social-Pedagogic Care and the Creative Therapy Educations. | |

I also work with Sjamanistc techniques and rituals within music therapy. Since my first practical experiences (during the summer of 1995, visiting the 3rd European Music Therapy Conference in Aalborg, Denmark) I use these techniques on a regular basis. In the Fall of 1997 I gave two workshops for the NVCT Symposium "Inspiration" on Shamanic Journeying: "Inspiratie door de Sjamanistische Reis" (in Dutch, I'm afraid!) |
